17 May 2013 was a victorious moment for VJC. Our hockey girls maintained their streak of golds, clinching their 11th consecutive Championship Title at the Hockey A Division Championships. Our hockey boys played their finals after the girls, and it was a nail-biting match, with the boys finally emerging Champions as well.

On 8 May 2013, Straits Times held a current events talk in VJC, engaging students on the topic of the Population White Paper. Victorians shot about 20 questions to the broadsheet's deputy editor Zuraidah Ibrahim and political correspondent Jessica Cheam. An article in My Paper on the 7th of May 2013, talks about Mr Jim Lim( who is now 36), and his troubled childhood. Victorians in 'Team Coconuts' represented VJC in the Economic Development Board(EDB) Emerging Markets Challenge this year, which was held on the 8th of May in VJC. This year's focus was on Latin America, with the theme "Latin America - Beyond Samba". We are very proud of them for emerging as champions in the competition. Congratulations to Charmaine Boo Hsueh Mei(12S46), Ong Sue Cern(12S51), Chin Wei Han Daniel(12S47), Liu Yu(12S49) and Jiang Ran(12S49) for their outstanding performance.

Shawn Hoo Yong Chuan (12A13), Dhiraj Chainani(13A12) and Bryan Yip Cheng En(12S43) took part in the Dunman High School(DHS) and Tampines Junior College(TPJC) Public Speaking Competitions, that were both held last Saturday. We are very happy to announce that Shawn has clinched the 2nd position in TPJC, Dhiraj attained the 2nd position in DHS, and Bryan won the 3rd position in DHS. Congratulations to the three boys.
