The Imagineering Programme
As suggested by its name, the Imagineering Programme directs the creative
problem solving skills of students to provide innovative solutions to
address authentic, real world problems.
It seeks to nurture VIP students into social innovators – passionate
individuals with the desire, knowledge and ability to act on real world
social problems using creative and innovative strategies. In the process,
our students become caring individuals who understand the needs of the
community and who are inspired by a strong sense of social responsibility
to make changes to benefit the community at large.
All IP students are trained in the innovation protocol, which equips
them with effective creative problem strategies to handle real world
community needs. These problems increase in complexity and scale as
they progress through the 4 IP years, starting with an authentic school-based
problem in IP1, to meeting the needs of charity organizations under
their service learning programme in IP2. In IP3 and IP4, it takes the
form of vSparks projects,. which are self-initiated community projects
conceptualised and led by the senior IP students themselves.
Critical Inquiry
Critical Inquiry allows students to take their learning passion to
a whole new level through carrying
out authentic research in a field of their choice, be it in science
or the humanities. This may be in the
form of external and internal research projects or research-based competitions.
VJC is constantly on
the look out for strategic partnerships to provide external research
attachment opportunities for our
students. Our esteemed partners include the A*STAR, DSTA, DSO, IMRE,
NUS, NTU, and NIE.
