Competition Entry

1.

The competition is open to all students studying in a Junior College/Centralised Institute or a Secondary School in Singapore

2.

Each student is entitled to submit only 1 entry and each school is entitled to submit a total of at most 20 entries.

Kindly note that this applies to IP schools as well.

3.

Only graphical designs are to be submitted.

4.

Each design should be related to the given theme.

5.

The main part(s) of the design should be completed using relevant Mathematical equations. However, pixel drawing or other forms of drawing can be used to touch up your picture.

6.

The theme for the year 2010 is “Graphics Calculators and Olympism”

7.

Closing date for the submission of entries is 9 July 2010.

 

Submission of Entry

1.

Each entry has to be submitted using the official entry form.

2.

The completed entry forms should be named as <initials of sch_name of student>.doc, example xyzjc_Tan Ah Kow.doc.

3.

The soft copy of the design should be named as <initials of sch_student’s name>.8xi

For example   xyzjc_Tan Ah Kow.8xi.

This can be done after downloading the picture onto a computer via USB cable (only for TI – 83+ and above) and renaming that file. (see How to submit)

4.

The completed entry form and the design should be sent as attachments to your teacher-in-charge who will then send all the entries to gcdesign2010@gmail.com as a school

5.

Your teacher should receive an acknowledgement within 3 days of submission via email.

 

Judging Criteria

Points will be awarded for originality, creativity, difficulty and suitability.

The judges are Professor Peter Jones, Swinburne University of Technology, Dr Spario Soon, Learning Interactive, and

Mr Roland Chow, Texas Instruments Singapore (Pte) Ltd.

2.

The best 50 designs will receive the following prizes.
