Want to help out? GloPos is a non-profit webzine that's just
starting up, and we welcome any and all voluntary contributions
from the student and young adult community. Anyone can join
- Victorians past and present, and non-Victorians too.
While we can't promise to publish everything you send us,
we will give all contributions our fullest consideration, evaluating
them according to our current objectives and goals. Style is
subjective, we agree. But being what we are, we prize intelligent
(there is so little of that nowadays, wouldn't you agree?),
humorous and lively pieces greatly. These contributions are
paid for with good karma.
If you would like to join our pool of freelancers (see below
for more details on the roles we have), please provide us with
some details about your work experience, personal data (i.e.
age, qualifications, areas of interest, etc.) and attach samples
of your past work. Pictorial ideas such as comics and photographs
are also welcome. If you're interested in any of these posts,
send a summary of your skills and desired position to glopos@go.to.

Volunteer Positions
Aces
Aces will be primarily active in the Activism Centre (i.e. Forum...plus
eventually the Polls and Online Petitions if we can find the right
PHP or ASP scripts). They'll be responsible for starting up and
moderating threads, as well as welcoming newbie posters and assisting
them in becoming active and experienced posters to the GloPos
Forum.
'
Scouts
Scouts will be responsible for thinking up possible angles for
new articles as well as sourcing for people to write these articles.
They may also undertake mini-research projects to supplement an
issue (for e.g. if an issue is thematically based upon the subject
of education, the Scouts may want to come up with a list of interesting
educational statistics so as to supplement the rest of the articles
in that issue).
Gurus

Community

such as wallpapers, icons and screensavers to help with the
site's branding.

current issue into the archive once a new issue of GloPos is ready.
Gurus will also work with Aces, Researchers and Community Artists
on preparing subsequent site updates and revamps.

Researchers
We are always looking for fresh articles on GloPos, and try to
roll out 4 to 6 feature articles each month. There is no commitment
to write another article.
Articles should be between 1200 to 1500 words
and pertain to local issues, or global issues as seen through
local lenses.
When an article gets too lengthy or a topic
is so large that it can't be explained easily in one article,
a series of articles is recommended. A series can be any amount
of articles from 2 to 12. More than that and you should seriously
consider writing a regular column on the subject.
We prefer to get as many of a series up front
as possible. It makes things easier if we know what you are trying
to accomplish with the series before we start publishing it. Submitting
a schedule of articles with a brief outline of each is appreciated
prior to actually sending the articles.
You can also contribute to the 'Two Line Revue,' our regular review
column, or propose a column of your own (although you should be
forewarned that this will require a high level of commitment.
All articles are due on the 11th of each month.
Advocate
You can also really help by checking out the GloPos buttons and
banners on our Downloads page and posting them on your site. Also
tell your friends about us if you liked this site. Word of mouth
is always the best form of publicity.
