Points to note:
- Each
team will be allowed only 1 run in the finals.
- Due to
the limited time available during the finals, there will be little time
available for teams to calibrate their robots just before their runs.
Teams are advised to perform final calibrations to their robots between 10
am and 1 pm before submitting them for caging during registration (by 1.15
pm).
- However,
to reduce the possibility that robots might be adversely affected by
changing lighting conditions at the competition venue between 1.30 pm and
4.30 pm, teams will be allowed to do final calibrations about 10 minutes
before their runs. This final calibration will be performed at a small replica
of the field which will be constructed near to the actual field. Teams
will be invited at around 10 minutes before their turn to run to perform
their final lighting measurements and calibrations to their robots.
- Teams
are advised to cover the infrared port of their Lego RCX with an opaque
material like aluminium foil or Blue Tac before submitting the robot
during registration. This is to avoid accidental interference during its
run which can be caused by infrared signals emitted by infrared towers or
remote controllers.
